Kolkata & Mother Theresa

Carolyn, Patrick, and I spent four days getting a taste of Kolkata. Kolkata is in West Bengal, so there are a lot of similarities between it and Bangladesh. Bangla is also the language there, though everyone knows English. We had fun comparing Dhaka and Kolkata and being tourists. While in Kolkata we stayed at the MCC India guesthouse located in Entally market. One highlight of Kolkata was seeing the Mother House where Mother Theresa lived and worked. It listed all the places in the world that have Missionaries of Charity houses - including Mymensingh and a small town in Indiana near Laura's house (Ridgeville?). There was a display of Mother Theresa's belonging that was interesting to see. She had one of everything - one outfit, one pair of shoes, one plate, one cup, one pen, etc... Mother Teresa started her work in Entally Market and MCC and Mother Teresa had a history of working together throughout the years.
