Same work, new place

I spent the last week working in Agailjhara, Bangladesh where we have a partner called Charity Foundation. Agailjhara is about 7 hours south of Dhaka by bus, it's really not that far kilometer-wise, but there are many rivers and few bridges which equals alot of ferries. Agailjhara is a village with lots of water, green jungle greenery, and swiss-like houses. The roads are curvy and small with frequent bridges, so you have to drive motorcycle, walk, or take rickshaw. Some of Charity Foundation's staff from the office branch in Dhaka came one day for a meeting with the local government officials. MCC's Prokritee has four projects in the Agailjhara area, and I visited all four - you'll hear about that later. Job Creation used to have a Agailjhara office, so four of my Mymensingh co-worker lived in Agailjhara three months ago. I went with one of them, senior technical officer, Richard. He was happy to be working at his old office and to be reunited with his wife and son who live in Agailjhara. The Charity Foundation uses alot of natural fibers to weave mats and baskets. They have 100 producers at two location, and would be either our best or second-best partner.
