We spent one day in Domtri with Andrea and Christina. They introduced us to all their friends - one similarity between Domtri and Bangladesh - foreignors are rare. Also we went to one of Christina's classes in which the current was off. We toured a hospital and the similarities ended - this hospital had empty beds! Andrea took Carolyn and I shari shopping and I bought a few Indian saris. After this we went to a nearby dam, which is the local place to take visitors. (See the picture.) In the evening we attended a birthday party of Mrs. Chatterjee, she is a doctor in whose home Andrea and Christina eat each day. Mr. Chatterjee is also a doctor and he attended John Hopkins so he had lots of fun stories. The next morning an ambulance from the hospital took us to the airport in Raipur. We landed in Kolkata which felt hotter than the 110 degree weather we had left because Kolkata is so humid. In Kolkata we repackaged our souvenirs, did some shopping, chatted with the MCC India reps - Ed and Twila, and indulged in some more Indian food. The next morning we flew to Dhaka, and then I came back to Mymensingh.
