From a train window

Before I had always assumed that rail crossing barriers meant that you should wait patiently until a train came and cross the tracks after the train had gone. In Bangladesh traffic rules I'm learning that if the barrier goes down, it is more wise to squeeze around the barrier and cross the tracks before the train comes - as the guy on the left is doing.

On Thursday the two new SALTers, Matt and Steve, and I went by train from Mymensingh to Dhaka. A few times we had to stop in random places to allow another train to pass. No matter where we stopped there were always people to photograph and have an excited conversation with.
