We were expecting to go to a community center for the wedding, but somehow we ended up in Abir's village home. It took us two hours to drive there, and then our van couldn't go to the house as the road was not suitable. Instead we hired vangaris (carts pedaled by men) and rode on the muddy road through rice paddies under the moonlit night to the house. We were in the village and there was no electricity, but they had hired a tent and a generator. The wedding band performed for us and we ate huge plates of sweets, rice, yogurt, and mango. In the photo Shinjita, Patrick, Jerry, Ethel, Anne, and Arun enjoy sweets and pita.
